Chicago bred and of Nigerian heritage, Jay Greedy is the counter act to the gangsta acts that populate hip-hop's perceived populace. Instead of lyrics about holding stacks of cash or ballin’ out of control, Greedy chooses to focus on more aspiring, or even comical lyrics. Song titles like "Crack Is Wack and Coke Is Dope" are prime examples of the fact the he is not the quintessential dope boy rapper. It's a different kind of dope. Indie label The Sweat Shop is home to Jay Greedy. It is apparent that they allow him to explore his creative essence, with his genre being described as "Hip-Hop/Under Water Whale Sex" on his Facebook page. However, don’t let his zany approach to rap be a deterrent from his considerable lyrical abilities. It’s the perfect approach--lyrics plus a keen sense of humor equates to a unique flow.
